Is February Too Late for a Furnace Tune-Up?

If you’ve spent much time on our blog, you know that we at Schneller Knochelmann Plumbing, Heating & Air think highly of tune-ups. Apart from keeping you and your home safe from malfunctions that could lead to fire or carbon monoxide leaks, tune-ups keep your system running its best and prevent breakdowns.

While we suggest getting your furnace tuned up at the start of furnace season, it’s really never too late to make the appointment. There are always benefits to getting your system checked out, even as late as Valentine’s Day.

Keep Your Furnace in Shape

The biggest reason we suggest getting a tune-up is to prolong the life of your system. By scheduling regular tune-ups, you keep your furnace running more efficiently and for longer. You can avoid the expense and hassle of buying a brand new furnace just by helping your current system run at its best.

Still not sure why your furnace needs a tune-up? How about keeping you safe AND saving you money !

Tune-Ups and Your Air Conditioner

Before you know it, the weather will warm up and your furnace will kick off for the season. While it might seem silly to get your furnace in tip-top shape just to sit until next fall, remember that tune-ups affect your air conditioner, too.

Your heating and cooling systems use the same delivery method, so when we ensure that your furnace isn’t wasting effort on leaky ducts, we’re also making your air conditioner more effective.

Who Says We’re Done with Winter?

Let’s face it, just because Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods just yet.

It’s not unheard of for Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky to still be relying on their furnaces well into spring. The last thing you want is to lose during a cold snap in March is your heat, especially when you’re so close to the end of the season!

Get your tune-up now – it’s truly better late than never!
