Meet the Knochelmanns – Pete Knochelmann

Pete Knochelmann was born in September of 1965 and is the second to youngest of nine children. Much like his brother John, Pete attended St. Anthony and graduated from Covington Catholic high school. He spent his childhood in Taylor Mill and spent most of his time outdoors playing with the neighborhood kids. As a boy, he loved hiking, bike riding, and the highlight of his summer days was going to the swim club. At a young age, Pete wasn’t interested in working for his dad. He had his mind set on becoming an architect. When he was 16, Pete started his first real job at Burger Chef. After a few other jobs and some time in college he decided against being an architect.

Instead, Pete wanted to join his family’s business. Even with being the son of the owner, Pete had to start at the bottom and work his way up, just like everyone else. From the beginning, John Knochelmann Sr. always instilled a strong work ethic and values in his children, never accepting anything less from them. John Sr. always believed honesty and integrity were most important and it is still how the heating, air conditioning, and plumbing business in Cincinnati is operated today.

With over 30 years in the business, Pete has obtained various plumbing licenses and has his HVAC Journeyman’s license. He also completed four years at the Masters Plumbing Association Apprenticeship School. Throughout his career, he has worked as a plumber as well as an HVAC installer/service technician. He is presently an HVAC comfort consultant and designs HVAC systems to fit customers’ needs.

Currently Pete has a home in Taylor Mill. He lives on the same street as the home he grew up in. He enjoys family trips to Cumberland, watching sports, and all share in his daughter’s love for horses. Pete also enjoys traveling to warm, sunny destinations and in the last few years has been to Los Angeles, Key West, and the Dominican Republic.

Even as an adult, Pete still loves outdoor activities such as boating, camping, shooting guns, and four-wheeling. In his spare time, he works on his antique pickup truck and on different projects throughout his home. Live music is also one of his favorite pastimes. Whether he is relaxing by a bonfire, at a sporting event, or at the Schneller Knochelmann Plumbing, Heating & Air office, his time is spent surrounded by close friends and family.

His ultimate goal in life is to make sure his kids are self sufficient, happy, and healthy. In the future, Pete plans to take an Alaskan Cruise and has hopes to retire by age 60.
